Cosatu reconvenes congress after it collapsed last month

The 15th Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) national congress reconvenes at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni today following its collapse last month .

Cosatu spokesperson Zanele Sabela says, “The 3 day event will bring together more than 1 800 delegates from affiliates, alliance partners, local and international guests, and conclude with a presentation of the Congress Declaration, and the announcement of the elected Cosatu National Office bearers.” “Cosatu president, Zingiswa Losi, will deliver the opening address, with messages of support from alliance partners, the African National Congress (ANC), the South African Communist Party (SACP), and the South African National Civic Organization (SANCO).
