Ramaphosa welcomes financial support for small-scale farmers

President Cyril Ramaphosa has welcomed the Land Bank’s Blended Finance Scheme, which provides financial support to small-scale farmers.

He says the initiative is opening doors for more black farmers to enter the agricultural sector, an industry historically dominated by white farmers.

He was speaking at the Stutterheim in the Eastern Cape, where he is visiting the Black Youth-owned Redlands farm.

“This achievement is also a reminder of the enormous potential that remains untapped in our country.

For generations, the majority of South Africans were systematically excluded from the ownership of agricultural land and from the opportunities associated with commercial farming.

And it really got together after colonial times.
