TMPD officer ‘Gagash’ Nonyane, wife bail appeal dismissed

The bail appeal of Peter ‘Gagash’ Nonyane and his suspended estate attorney wife, Charlotte Tibane, has been dismissed at the Polokwane High Court.

Tibana and Nonyane are accused of defrauding deceased estate accounts of more than R11 million.

They are facing 123 charges of fraud and money laundering.

Their co-accused, Rirhandzu Tibana and Jabulani Maluleke, were granted R60 000 bail two weeks ago.

During their bail application, Tibana told the court that she should be released as she is the primary caregiver to her minor children.

She also told the court that her continued incarceration could force her law firm to close, putting her employees’ livelihoods at risk.

Nonyane argued that he is not a flight risk and won’t interfere with state witnesses.

The two are alleged to have funded their expensive lifestyle and bought luxury vehicles with funds transferred from some of the deceased estate accounts. -Reporting by Rendani Raliphaswa VIDEO | ‘Gagash’ Nonyane and wife back in court
