Three men to appear in court over slain runner’s smartwatch

Three men facing charges for the possession of a smartwatch belonging to slain runner Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo are expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrates’ Court.

Last week, two of the accused were granted bail of R10 000 each, while the third remains in custody to verify his legal status in the country.

They face provisional charges of theft, possession of stolen property, money laundering, and the contravention of the Second-Hand Goods Act.

No murder charges have been brought against the accused persons at this stage, as investigations into Moselakgomo’s death continue.

Moselakgomo is the sixth woman whose body was discovered in Rhodesfield, Kempton Park, within the Ekurhuleni Municipality last month. [IN PICTURES] Friends and family are bidding a final farewell to 38 year old runner Elizabeth ‘Tsontso’ Moselakgomo at Phake Village in Mpumalanga.

Moselakgomo is one of nine women whose bodies were found in various locations across Ekurhuleni since July this year.

Minister in the Presidency for Women, Children and People with Disabilities, Sindisiwe Chikunga and Social Development, Dina Pule are also in attendance. : Pimani Baloyi — SABC News (@SABCNews) September 20, 2026
