Ntuli rejects suggestion Mchunu solicited bribes from ‘Cat’ Matlala

African National Congress (ANC) Chief Whip Mdumiseni Ntuli has disagreed with the submission by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) that Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, who is on special leave, solicited bribes, among other things, from the alleged criminal kingpin Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala.

The EFF made the submission during the committee’s deliberations on its draft report.

Ntuli disagreed, requesting that the committee make no such findings despite those findings being supported by the MKP.

“Because even after I have listened to what the honourable Skosana [David Skosana uMkhonto weSizwe MP] said.

The example he has made about the role of [Brown] Mogotsi in the circulation of the directives from the minister, I still cannot agree that rule in itself is essential to justify that we should agree as the committee.” “Therefore, it’s an extraordinary access and influence to the work of the police.

I think that has been, in my own view. to see it in this perspective,” says Ntuli.
