Third man charged with alleged murder of Daniel Hussein, 22, at Thomastown reserve

A third man has been charged in the “targeted” fatal shooting of a plumber in Melbourne’s north.

Daniel Hussein, 22, was shot once in the chest at HR Uren Reserve on Victroria Drive in Thomastown on September 6.

“He was treated at the scene but passed away a short time later,” a police statement read.

A 20-year-old Reservoir man was arrested shortly before 4am at Melbourne Airport as he was allegedly trying to board an international flight.

Two Donnybrook men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested and charged with murder on September 10.

They were remanded in custody to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on February 1, 2027.

The plumber was shot in front of his friends at the reserve, and was weeks away from getting married, his father told The Herald Sun.

Police will allege the shooting was a targeted attack and those involved were known to each other.
