Solid8 brings AlgoSec Horizon to Southern Africa

AlgoSec has launched Horizon, an AI-powered platform intended to give enterprises better visibility, help them remediate risk and automate security change across multi-cloud hybrid environments while holding the line on compliance. Solid8 Technologies is AlgoSec’s sole distributor in southern Africa.

The pitch rests on a specific idea: that third-party connections should be treated as explicit application dependencies rather than left buried inside broad firewall or cloud access policies.

Applying structured approval, risk assessment and validation processes, she says, gives organisations better control over how AI services interact with external systems.

“AlgoSec’s strategic methodology helps businesses to understand how applications communicate as it identifies excessive access and governs connectivity changes through controlled processes,” Santana says. “This approach provides security and network teams with the context needed to understand what is exposed, what matters most, what needs to change, and whether that change can be made safely.”

“AI security cannot become a barrier to innovation,” Santana says. “Development and application teams must deploy new models, integrations and services quickly. At the same time, security teams need to ensure that connectivity changes do not introduce unacceptable risk.”

Manual firewall analysis and fragmented approval processes are unlikely to keep pace with the speed of AI development, she argues. Horizon is designed to automate the connectivity change process end to end — planning, risk analysis, implementation and validation — so that AI teams can move quickly while security and infrastructure teams keep visibility and control.

Santana is careful to say connectivity governance is only one part of an AI security strategy. “Organisations still require identity controls, data protection, model guardrails, prompt-injection defences, API security and monitoring. AlgoSec Horizon does not replace these technologies, it rather provides a critical complementary layer.”

The division of labour, as she describes it: identity controls determine who or what the AI agent is, model-level controls influence how it behaves, and Horizon governs which systems it can reach and helps contain the damage if it behaves unexpectedly. As enterprises expand their use of AI, she says, that distinction matters more.

“Organisations adopting AI successfully will not be the ones that avoid risk entirely,” Santana concludes. “It will be the ones who understand where the risk lies and respond to it by implementing appropriate guardrails that serve to maintain control as their environments evolve.”
