Madlanga Commission won’t release details of in camera testimony

The Madlanga Commission says it will not release details about the appearances of witnesses who testify in camera.

Commission spokesperson Jeremy Michaels says the Commission has so far heard in camera testimony from Witness S, a Crime Intelligence officer.

Former Deputy Crime Intelligence Head Major-General Feroz Khan appeared remotely before the Commission on Tuesday, but was unable to testify due to the death of a relative.

Khan has been implicated in allegations involving an IT Treasury contract kickback and the Aeroton drug bust which occurred in the south of Johannesburg in 2021.

Earlier this year, the commission heard allegations concerning Khan’s relationship with former Investigation Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head Advocate Andrea Johnson.

The in-camera process is expected to continue for the remainder of this week and next week, while public hearings resume next month.
