Mncube’s phone data, photos under focus in Meyiwa murder trial
Accused number three, Mthobisi Mncube, in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, is expected to continue with his testimony at the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Mncube told the court that the cellphone he was using in 2014 did not have WhatsApp.
This came after the state put it to Mncube that one of the pictures showing him and his co-accused taken in March 2014 was shared via WhatsApp.
Mncube and four others are on trial for the 2014 murder of Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.
Prosecutor Dr Ronnie Sibanda asked, “Warrant Officer Ndlovu testified in this court to the effect that whenever you see a picture with ‘WA’ is an indication of the fact that the photo was shared via WhatsApp.
You still maintain that you never had WhatsApp on your phone?” Mncube: “You see the phone that I had, the one that was confiscated by Masondo, it never had WhatsApp, and it does not even take WhatsApp.” VIDEO | Tuesday’s court proceedings:
